LFE Assessment Trials
Keeping the dream alive.
The League Football Education (LFE) Assessment Trials provide a critical pathway for young footballers released from academy programmes or first-year professional contracts.
Created by the English Football League (EFL) and the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA), the trials offer players a valuable opportunity to showcase their abilities to scouts from Premier League, EFL, non-league, European clubs, and US university scholarship programmes.
For many of the players, the LFE Assessment Trials represent far more than a football opportunity—they are a second chance to keep a lifelong dream alive. Having been released from academy systems or professional contracts, these young athletes arrive carrying the weight of uncertainty, determination, and hope, all with the ambition of earning another opportunity in the game.
